Survived! - There's always time for a book
Sorry for the silence! Packing up the house/getting rid of possessions was quite difficult by the end. But we got out with around 15 minutes to spare! Although I admit there was some last minute ditching of clothes to make space in our bags (charity shops in our small town did well).

We're now in Kuala Lumpur for a few days. It is lovely and warm. I am feeling jetlagged but also so pleased to not be sitting on the floor of our furniture-less yet messy house, which is what I was doing a few days ago.

I'm going to miss the UK a lot. But I'm also excited about going home too. I will try to post more while I'm here in transit!

Pity it was such a flurry in the end, though I guess it was a bit inevitable - good for the charity shops' benefitting! Have a lovely mini break in Kuala Lumpur!

Well it was more organised than my last move, so perhaps next time will be fine? I just forgot about things like our rubbish and recycling bins filling up, thus necessitating trips to the waste recycling centre. Ah well. And here's hoping the poor charity shop dealt with the last load of random stuff OK - at least this time I didn't accidentally drop off my dirty laundry like when I left Australia - improvement!

The UK misses you too! Enjoy Kuala Lumpur, and the rest of your trip.

I can so relate! Having chairs felt so luxurious after nearly a month without them! Best of luck getting settled in your new (old) home!

I think it was also the messiness that got me! Without any table or shelves we just had random piles of stuff waiting to be collected/thrown out/packed etc. We will be with family until we find a house so there is some relief for a while :)

I lost track of time and forgot you were travelling already! I know you'll be sad to leave some things in the UK, but I can't help being vicariously excited for someone who is moving from a cold climate to a nice warm one...

Hurray for returning home! Enjoy Kuala Lumpur and I hope the rest of the trip home is easier and uneventful and congratulations on the job!

Yes I understand, I just smiled and smiled when I got off the plane here and felt the lovely warm air. And it rained big fat tropical raindrops. Are you letting climate help influence your grad school choice?

And thanks!
